TRIAD Fund Receives $7.5 Million (10/8/2008)
DALLAS (September 15, 2008) – Thousands of North Texas-area servicemen and women and their families will benefit from increased emergency assistance, mental and physical health services and other programs, thanks to a $7.5 million grant from the Los Angeles-based California Community Foundation to The Dallas Foundation’s Texas Resources for Iraq-Afghanistan Deployment Fund (TRIAD). read more >>

Seven recipient organizations offer assistance to military personnel and their families DALLAS (April 2, 2008) – The Texas Resources for Iraq-Afghanistan Deployment (TRIAD) Fund of The Dallas Foundation awarded more than $600,000 in grants to seven non-profit organizations assisting military personnel who are serving or have served in Iraq or Afghanistan and their families. DALLAS (November 9, 2007) – Fueled by an increased need for mental health care, more than $1.45 million in grants was awarded to four non-profit organizations assisting military personnel who are serving or have served in Iraq or Afghanistan and their families through the Texas Resources for Iraq-Afghanistan Deployment (TRIAD) Fund of The Dallas Foundation. This brings the total amount awarded this year to $4,022,596. Let's Really Support Them: Our Troops Deserve Better When They Come Home

If possible, let's put politics aside for a moment. Let's assume every president and legislator and business owner and storekeeper and war protester is sincere when he or she says, "I support the troops."

"Troops," in the mythic, stereotypical collective, make up one of America's most revered institutions. They put themselves into harm's way to defend a country that the vast majority of us believe is worth preserving. They volunteer months and years of their lives, knowing that they may be sent to an Afghanistan or Iraq, a place where they will face gunfire and RPGs and roadside bombs. read more >>

Nonprofits Do Their Part in War Effort (5/20/2007)
Sacrifice by the public at large has been severely wanting in support of military men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan and their families.

In fact, it has been loved ones who have generated much of the support.

But gradually, institutions are stepping up, including the California Community Foundation, which has given $5 million to each of three Texas foundations: the Dallas Foundation, the Permian Basin Area Foundation and the San Antonio Area Foundation.
